The preferred location for this role is East Hanover, NJ site but consideration may be given to existing Distance Working Arrangements (there may be some restrictions based on legal entity). Please note that this role would not provide relocation as a result. If an associate has Distance Working Arrangements, all home office expenses and any travel/lodging to specific East Hanover site for periodic live meetings will be at the employee’s expense. The expectation of working hours and travel (domestic and/or international) will be defined by the hiring manager. This role is not Remote.
Job Purpose
The Delivery Excellence Partner serves as a networked partner across P&O Business Partners, People Partners, and PS&S. This role blends delivery leadership with consultative expertise to implement achievable transformation plans that meet business needs and foster simple, connected employee experiences. Acting as a connector and advisor, the role ensures seamless collaboration with a one P&O mindset to enable scalable, people-centric solutions.
This role serves as a subject matter expert on delivering large-scale, complex transformations including mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations, restructurings, and severance coordination. In addition, this role provides focused expertise and coordination for promotion processes and a select set of specialized processes.
About the Role
Major Accountabilities
Subject Matter Expertise and Delivery Lead: Core member of P&O project teams (e.g., Rewards, PPs, Legal, Severance, PS&S) enabling a one P&O mindset in order to create realistic restructuring and M&A implementation plans;
- Work directly with the P&O Business Partner and People Partner to assess business needs and establish an approach with mutually agreed milestone dates and clearly defined roles and responsibilities.
- Provide guidance on process dependencies, requirements (templates, SLAs, etc.), and compliance to ensure timely and accurate execution of transformation plans.
- Collaborate with Legal, Severance and COEs for coordinated execution.
- Share OM/PA updates regularly to keep stakeholders informed of progress and risks throughout the project.
- Prepare mass change submission for go-live and all related OM/PA changes required throughout the project.
- Spot risks early, share their effects, and create backup plans to maintain progress. Track escalations and address issues as needed.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and client
Technology: Explore and advocate for the use of tools like dashboards and automation to improve efficiency.
Continuous Improvement: Simplify processes and standardize work (e.g., SOPs, toolkits);
- Champion knowledge-sharing and harmonization of practices across global teams to foster a unified P&O approach (e.g., H2R, Global Delivery Excellence, People Lifecycle)
- Leverage data, analytics, and external research to identify trends and generate ideas.
- Engage in post-project P&O reviews to collect lessons learned and propose enhancements aimed at improving the quality of project delivery and overall experience.
Develop: Engage in projects within P&O and the PP Function to build collaboration and contribute to solutions.
What you will bring to the role:
- Bachelor’s Degree Required.
- At minimum of 6+ years HR experience, preferably in a matrixed environment. Experience or exposure to HR Generalist activities. HRIS and HCM systems expertise; Workday experience. Strong track record of delivering quality results on schedule, excels under pressure, and adapts quickly to shifting priorities.
- Builds trust and strong relationships with clients and teams by understanding their needs, consulting on solutions, and delivering on commitments. Ability to adapt to diverse cultures, teams, complexities, and business scenarios.
- Problem-solving and diagnostic skills. Advanced skills in managing large datasets with accuracy. Able to analyze data to identify trends, extract insights, and present information for better decision-making. Advanced Excel Skills such as pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and filters.
- Technology and AI advocation – actively using AI in daily work; knowledge to research new tech-enabled options based on user needs .
- Fluency in English both oral and written communication skills.
Preferred
- Experience working with global teams or organizations and expertise in standardizing processes and improving workflows. Skilled in project management.
- Knowledge of simplification methods like Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, and Scrum. Experience with AI tools; Familiarity with dashboard tools like Power BI and Tableau.
The salary for this position is expected to range between $98,700 to $183,300 per year.
The final salary offered is determined based on factors like, but not limited to, relevant skills and experience, and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically. Novartis may change the published salary range based on company and market factors.
Your compensation will include a performance-based cash incentive and, depending on the level of the role, eligibility to be considered for annual equity awards.
